These are welding fixtures to weld bases, side plates, and spring decks together in your home shopThe challenge here was to find a universal fixture to assist in your spring deck height to be EXACTLY WITHIN .003” for that paper thin gap without excessive shims. To have a sliding spring deck for multiple geometries that maintained that precision height at 3 degrees, and finally to be ambidexterous for righty and lefty machines. The coil geometry I used was 1.25I am making 1” ones as well.For side plate distance I used.75” coil topsAccounted for .3125” contact screw position.05” insulating shoulder.03125” washer.02” solder lugAll of this for near perfect contact screw position in line with coil geometry within .01” give or take for different tolerancesI have had half a dozen of these through different builders over the last 20 years and I’ve accounted for any issue or obstacle I ran into while building.
